Cornerstone’s 30 Weeks of Experiencing Life Groups
WEEK 20: Sharing My Faith
Cornerstone LifeGroup
Week of March 12, 2017
“Sharing My Faith”
Open in prayer. Begin your discussion by reading the Key Verse a few times and then try and get the group to recite it from memory. Do the same with the Key Idea.
Key Verse: Ephesians 6:19-20:
19 Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so
that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an
ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
Key Question: How do I share my faith with those who don’t know God?
Key Idea: I share my faith with others to fulfill God’s purposes.
ICE BREAKER: Ask the following questions out loud and discuss.
If you were asked to be appointed an ambassador for the United States, where would you
like to be sent? Why?
Is there anyone you would not like to see in heaven? Why?
STUDY: Have someone read the following verses out loud.
Read: 2 Corinthians 5:11-14
Ask: What is Paul’s motive for evangelism in verse 11? How does verse 10 tie into our motivation (read verse 10)? Will Christians be held accountable for the way they live after being saved? What is Paul’s motivation for evangelism in verse 14? Is love or fear a stronger motivation for you?
Read: 2 Corinthians 5:15-17
Ask: What does Paul mean by what he says about Christ and our response to Him (see also Romans 6:5-13)?
Read: 2 Corinthians 5:18-21
Ask: What does God do through Christ (vs 18)? Through us (vs 20)? For us (vss17-18)? What does “reconciliation” mean? How have you experienced this?
APPLICATION: What difference does this make in the way I live?
Ask: What motivates you to share your faith? If you rarely do so, what inhibits you?
How can you grow in your awe of God and your love for Christ this week?
Ask: Knowing what it is like to be alienated and reconciled in other relationships, how is it going with God: Are you in a family feud, a truce, or have you made up?
Ask: Is there anyone in your sphere of influence who doesn’t know Christ? If so, what are you going to do about it?
Close in prayer and pray for your group and family throughout the week!
