Cornerstone’s 30 Weeks of Experiencing Life Groups
WEEK 28: Faithfulness
Cornerstone LifeGroup
Week of June 11, 2017
“Virtue 8: Faithfulness”
Open in prayer. Begin your discussion by reading the Key Verse(s) a few times and then try and get the group to recite it from memory. Do the same with the Key Idea.
Key Verse: Proverbs 3:3-4 “Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.”
Key Question: Why is it important to be loyal and committed to others?
Key Idea: I have established a good name with God and others based on my loyalty to
those relationships.
ICE BREAKER: Ask the following questions and be prepared to answer first!
Who was the most talented person you have ever met and what did they do?
What talents do you think you should be known for, and do they match the talents that others see in you?
STUDY: Have someone read the following verses out loud.
Read: Matthew 25:14-18
Ask: What is a parable? In this parable, who do you think the master represents? The journey? The servants? The talents?
Why were the servants given different amounts of talents (see verse 15)?
Read: Matthew 25:19-25
Ask: What happens to the two servants who doubled their investment?
Why did the servant with the one talent hide it?
Read: Matthew 25:26-30
Ask: What happened to the servant who hid his talent?
How does the master’s treatment of the one-talent servant seem to you?
Do you feel that the master was fair in his treatment of his three servants?
APPLICATION: What difference does this make in the way I live?
Ask: If the Master returned today, what would he say about the way you’ve used what He gave you? Have you been faithful or unfaithful?
Ask: What kind of responsibility do you feel toward God regarding your talents?
Ask: How have you been working to invest your God-given ability in the Kingdom?
Ask: What will you do this week to discover or use your God-given ability?
Close in prayer and pray for your group and family throughout the week!
